No sign outside, no menu, no Wi-Fi, no credit cards, no reservations for more than four people. That's just a part of what makes this secret bar special.
Parlour is clearly my favourite bar in Prague. It is easy to miss the entrance, so if you get lost, look for the doors with a small picture of a horse on them. When you finally get in, the interior is pretty decent, you won't find anything disturbing there. Just clear space, cozy as if you were at home, a chess table, a well equipped bar, some paintings on the walls and that's pretty much it.
It's simply an oasis of quiet in the very center, just a few steps from the crowded Wenceslas square. If you're wondering how come the place is so calm, even though it's that well located, the answer is easy: the only way of advertising is word of mouth. The owners don't really want to make cocktails for just anyone, but for people who are really into it and will appreciate their artistic work. Yes, they call themselves cocktail artists and it's true from A to Z.
The bartender just asks what your mood is or what taste you feel like drinking at the moment and according to your answer mixes you a personalized cocktail. After that you can just sit on their comfortable armchair and enjoy your drink and the intimate atmosphere with some jazz music.
