This is a modest space, one that does not catch the eye easily if you just happen to pass by there but one that holds inside wonderful art. Every few weeks, a new exhibition is curated, a new artist is promoted, and new sensations and a wealth of art are presented to the visitors. This is the Kosovo Ministry of Culture Gallery, one of several spaces in Prishtina that displays visual art pieces by both local and international artists, throughout the year. The Ministry of Culture Gallery space is a glass-enclosed space on the ground floor of a residential building in the so-called “Qafa” (translates as "the neck") area in Prishtina. It is about 10 minutes walking distance from the city center. The gallery operates from Tuesday – Saturday, from 10:00 – 17:00 (it is closed for a lunch break between 13:00-14:00). The entrance is free of charge.
The end-of-summer and early-fall 2022 exhibition is called “Drawings on Paper” by Nurhan Qehaja, an avid keeper of journals. The artwork displayed on the gallery walls and glass cases is a visualization of pages from her diaries. Simple lines, some chance words, delicate and nuanced colour combinations, and contours depict the artist’s experience of space and time. This exhibition, curated by Majlinda Hoxha, is open until 15 October 2022.
