K-suns is located on Elizabtes street – the only street in Riga with 3 cinemas (Kino Bize and Splendid Palace). So, on a rainy day it is possible to have a small thematic walking tour, attend each of those cinemas and spend a whole day in the world of movies.
Established in 1992 and initially located in Old Town, since 2003 K-suns is an integral part of Berga Bazārs, spotted by another Riga spotter. In 2004 K-suns was admitted as a member in the organization “Europa Cinemas”.
The repertoire of K-suns is a mixture of alternative movies, classics, and a selection of modern movies as well as special programmes for kids, documentary movies, thematic programmes and lectures about the movie’s history and various styles. Ticket price for adults is EUR 5,00, for students (with ISIC card) and seniors, EUR 4,00.
It only has one projection hall, no popcorn, no long commercials at the beginning, and it also has a very specific old-time charm with the posters of old movies at the entrance and lobby of the cinema; you are thrown into the memories of old times with movies like “Broken Flowers”, “The Devil's Advocate” and James Bond starring Pierce Brosnan.
