Tucked away in the creative hub of Delfshaven, Bar Schiemond is Rotterdam's latest gem. Close to my favourite bakery, "Aap Noot Brood," coffee roasters "Schot Coffee Roasters," and the vintage interior shop "De Parel," this bar is a must-visit.
Delfshaven's raw and unpolished charm provides the perfect backdrop for Bar Schiemond. The bar's terrace is a prime spot on sunny days, offering an evening sun without any buildings blocking the light. The view is nothing short of spectacular, overlooking the industrial port and the river Maas, making it a hipster haven.
Bar Schiemond operates on a walk-in-only basis, so no reservations are needed. The menu is a culinary delight with something for everyone. The fried mushrooms from Rotterzwam are a heavenly treat, and the bread from Aap Noot Brood is always fresh. For meat lovers, the steak tartare is a standout, but truly, everything on the menu is top-notch.
