Club? Not quite… Might be a club during the weekends, but on Wednesday’s Bird Club turns into an underground jazz bar full of spontaneous creativity. The performers aren’t necessarily professional artists, they are locals from all walks of life who simply enjoy playing instruments, singing or even rapping.
Anyone can just hop on stage and join the improvised jams, adding to the jazz mix of sounds. The vibe is relaxed, with people enjoying drinks while vibing to whatever musical magic happens that evening. Whether you’re a musician yourself or just someone who appreciates the raw energy of live improvisation, this is a great spot to experience Rotterdam’s more laid-back, yet vibrant, music scene.
If you’re into music, play an instrument or sing, you can just join the stage and become part of the improvised performances yourself. People are just there to enjoy the music, have a drink and hear what people can come up with on the spot.
Located close to the city centre, the bar draws a crowd of diverse locals, from all ages and backgrounds, coming together to just enjoy the music and each other’s company. It’s an authentic place to feel the heartbeat of Rotterdam’s artistic community, and no professional credentials required!
