As someone who was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Little C in Rotterdam instantly takes me back to when I used to live there. The brick facades and cozy alleyways remind me of the brownstones of the neighbourhood I grew up in. Little C is a housing development in Rotterdam which was built to revitalize and reconnect the Coolhaven area in Rotterdam, a former industrial zone. Sometimes I go to Little C to just take a stroll through the alleyways and enjoy the view along the harbor that is around area.
I usually grab a coffee or matcha tea in the 'Kula' cafe within the Little C district and sit outside at the terrace tables when it is sunny. I bring my laptop to study or simply read a book. I have also come with friends to just take a walk and do something different in Rotterdam.
If you’re into thoughtful architecture, quiet corners, or just want to discover a different side of Rotterdam, Little C is definitely worth a visit. For me, it’s more than a photogenic spot, it’s a spot of familiarity, a reminder of home, and a place I keep coming back to.
