Sticky bar is the place where I fell in love with mango sticky rice. It's known for this dish, which has rice, coconut milk, topped with mango, sesame seeds, and coconut flakes, an iconic Thai plate. They also serve Surinamese satés with peanut sauce, alongside options like saotosoep, sticky baguettes, and more. It’s become one of my go-to spots when I’m craving something a bit different.
Stickybar isn’t a big restaurant with a long wine list or fancy seating. It’s a small, local spot, mostly takeaway, but it never feels transactional. You’re often greeted by a member of the Taus family themselves, and there's always time for a little chat. That community feel is part of what keeps me coming back.
