If there’s one thing the Dutch love, it’s soaking up the sun, no matter the season. And Westkop is one of my favourite spots to do just that. Cleverly designed with benches and plants to block the wind, this beer café offers a cosy, windless terrace perfect for sunny winter or summer days. Its location next to the iconic Depot (the mirror-covered museum resembling a giant plant pot) provides a stunning backdrop, and its proximity to museums like the Kunsthal, Het Nieuwe Instituut, and Huis Sonneveld makes it an ideal stop for culture lovers.
Westkop is a haven for beer enthusiasts, boasting a diverse selection of brews. Not into beer? Don’t worry; there’s plenty for wine lovers, cocktail fans, and even those who prefer non-alcoholic options. The Italian-inspired menu pairs perfectly with your drink of choice, featuring delicious pizzas and my personal favourite, the crispy arancini balls.
Keep an eye on their social media for events like pub quizzes and screenings of soccer matches. Whether you’re there to enjoy the vibrant terrace or catch an event, Westkop offers a perfect blend of relaxation, good food, and a lively atmosphere.
