If you are a beer lover of any shape or form, BeerGeek is the place for you. The venue was established just over 5 years ago in a cosy cavern on Rubinstein St. From the ashes rises the Phoenix, and so on the site of one of the former locations of the legendary Purga bar, the new BeerGeek opened its doors in late February 2020. The bright, white vaulted cellar transports you to days gone by, and there is a room in the back where you can chat in peace if the bar becomes too crowded.
There is a choice of at least 20 different craft beers on tap – mainly Russian, but with a few international breweries represented. This is a small, friendly bar, where ‘locals’ and ‘regulars’ chat and catch up with each other, and the barstaff led as ever by Valentin ‘Head’ will be more than happy to guide you among their vast selection of beers on tap, in bottles or cans. Its cosy ambience and banter is addictive, not to mention enjoying the range of delicious beers. Above all it’s the people who make it so special.
Come later in the evening or at weekends when you’ll find the bar filled with regulars and former employees.
