Gastro paradise
A gastro-bar dining heaven is the last thing you would expect to encounter on the top floor of one of the city's largest and glitziest shopping centres, but this is indeed the case in the recently opened 'Eat Market' which occupies the entire 5th floor of the Galeria retail centre. Previously, you had to wade past teenagers high on burgers and fizzy drinks to make it to the over-priced cinema, but now, on the floor above, there is a whole new experience waiting to be discovered. Brought to you by the same group who opened Vasilievsky Market in summer 2019, this 'Eat Market' offers a host of much-loved city establishments (such as Bao Mochi) but on a smaller scale.
When I visited in the hope of catching up with a friend from a well-known craft beer establishment at his new place of work, it was very busy and lively. I spotted a few familiar faces from other locations in the city.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in disagreement over what to eat - there's something for everyone, and it's bang in the city centre.
