I like it when historic places suddenly get their second life. And this is exactly what has happened with the apartment of Anna Pavlova's big love and husband Viktor located on the famous Italianskaya Street. Their love story began in this apartment in the beginning of the 20th century. Here they met again after she managed to get him out of prison. She had to give performances twice a day for 2 years in the UK to pay his pledge.
Now there is a modern art gallery here but one room is devoted to the famous Russian ballet dancer and her tours all over the world. You can watch a video with her fantastic Dying Swan, make a wish looking into the magic mirrors with her photos and even try to stand on pointed shoes.
Note the memorial plate on the house outside in the street. Anna's silhouette there is from the famous commercial of Russian Seasons in 1907 in Paris.
