Sometimes I hear from different people that photography is not as “arty” as painting or sculpture or whatever. I am not going to argue with that, but for me photography is not just a few shots and a picture as a result: it is a reflection of people’s feelings, thoughts and souls. Everyone can draw, but not everyone can do it as Van Gogh. Likewise, everyone can take a picture, but not every picture can set your mind and soul on fire or shake up your ideas and intentions.
The Center of Photography is located in the city center not far from the Hermitage. It occupies the last 2 floors in a building that is more than a hundred years old. This house with its high ceilings, wide corridors and windows has become a great host for dozens of exhibitions.
The gallery has a great collection of its own and hosts temporary exhibitions from all over the world. You can get to know different cultures, countries and events without ever going there. The gallery also has a great shop, where you can definitely may find something interesting.
I do not encourage you to fall in love with photographic art, but Rosphoto is a place where you can get positive emotions worth remembering.
