Skopje is a busy city and people rarely have the time to spend a classy evening out, but when they do, The Macedonian Opera and Ballet is a fantastic choice. With a repertoire that sometimes blows my mind and crews that do inspirational work, it's actually a beautiful choice for a night out in Skopje.
Guest performers, domestic stars, cathartic experiences, right in the center of Skopje and very close to the Old Bazaar where you can get a sequel to your decadent evening, the opera house gets my whole-hearted recommendation.
And the name of the venue is official, but that doesn't mean that you won't be able to attend a jazz evening, a Beatles night with the orchestra, or a simple 'vocal evening'.
