Since parks and gardens are usually too crowded and noisy this is often my choice for escape from the city's madness.
Sofia University Botanic Garden is located in the heart of the city - very close to Sofia University and Levski Monument. But its good location doesn't make it a popular place. Actually I know few locals who have visited it.
Here is a useful tip: if you want to buy tickets and enter the spot use the flower shop on the street. This is the Information and ticket centre and the entrance and exit.
The botanical garden is really small but has lots to offer - benches, hidden treasures (like cute wooden chairs and table), mini houses and gardens and the beautiful view of the Alexander Nevsky cathedral.
It won't take you long to look at everything. I like the peacefulness of the place and the many photo opportunities it gives. It is perfect for a short break, reading a book or just spending some time in nature. Also, I am a obsessed with succulent plants so visiting the garden is always interesting for me.
