About me
Tourism lecturer, tour guide and theater addict.
After my Bachelor's in Event & Cultural Management, I studied an international tourism programme at the Universitat de Girona in Catalunya. After one year, I decided to go back to my roots and graduated as a Bachelor in Tourism & Leisure Management in Brussels, where I teach tourism topics such as tour operating and nature-made visitor attractions.
Although I was born in the city of Oudenaarde, I moved to my beloved Ghent 7 years ago. In my spare time I enjoy the medieval city with its cozy restaurants, funky bars and inspiring museums. Furthermore, I am a travel addict and love to discover local places in unknown regions.
Why Ghent
As Europe's best-kept secret, Ghent steals everyone's heart. You will find locals with a healthy dose of pride and a historical city on the water where old goes hand in hand with new. Ghent is known for its laid back atmosphere, although it remains a livable, vibrant art city for all.

There's this huge plane tree in Ghent. It's very characteristic and has a strong presence and I love its mature, solitary look. Go hug it or kiss it...

The "Sunday Flower Market" in Ghent is a main tradition. On Sunday mornings, we head to Kouter square and stroll alongside the stalls, never in a hurry...

"De Gekroonde Hoofden" is one of the famous spare rib restaurants in Ghent and my absolute number one. Why? I just love their four different kinds of ribs.

"Lightning Bird Tree" is an art installation in Ghent. It's inspired by the famous fairytale L'Oiseau Bleu. Its reflection on the river makes it better!

"Julie's House" in Ghent is one of my favorite cafes at the Kraanlei to have a coffee and some pie. I'm a big fan of her Snickers pie and crème brûlée!

"Patershol" is the medieval heart of Ghent. This cosy, picturesque neighborhood has some of my favorite dining places - and what a historical atmosphere!
