Just a 10-minute walk from the Zagreb Cable Car that takes you to the top of Medvednica or only a few steps away from the legendary tram line no. 15, there is a charming restaurant with homecooked traditional meals inspired by Viennese cuisine.
The interior is reminiscent of quaint Alpine inns, complete with a fireplace. And the food is absolutely delicious - from hearty seasonal soups, crispy fried potatoes, mouth-watering burger, their staple Wiener Tafelspitz and dumplings, to the traditional desserts such as strudel or kajzeršmarn, everything is freshly prepared, very tasty and the portions are more than generous. Take it from a person who can eat A LOT, anything you order for one person can be easily divided by two people and still be a fulfilling meal.
The selection of drinks is equally impressive, from hot to cold, alcoholic to freshly squeezed juices. Since there is always a nice selection of cakes and teas, you can also drop by for a quick bite with friends after (or before) going for a hike. Weekends are their busiest time, so a reservation might be a good choice, especially for a larger group. There is also outdoor seating to enjoy the first rays of spring sun or catch a light breeze from the mountain. Whenever you decide to go, whatever you order, the food, the atmosphere, and the friendly staff will surely leave you wanting a repeat visit.
