OK, I have decided to try to explain one of Sweden's most popular fast food items. In Swedish, it is called "Tunnbrödsrulle". That would be the " Thin Bread Role". Or a wrap. A typical thing to eat in Sweden as a fast food is this wrap. Filled with two hotdogs (wiener style - boiled), mashed potatoes, salads, shrimp salad (optional, and I never take that) and a mayonnaise relish. Some add fried onions, mustard and ketchup. That is the classic way to go. An option is to have the hotdog grilled or a vegetarian style. Some places even offer the wrap with kebab meat. Anyway, at Kajsas you'll get this yummy dish to go, and it is a bit tricky to eat it as you'll get an open wrap filled with all the goodies. If that is not what you want, you'll get other typical Swedish items here, such as sandwiches and regular-styled hotdogs in a bun.
Kajsa på Kajen also offers a big selection of ice cream, and the most popular are the soft ice with a huge selection of toppings to go with them. This spot is close to Hammarby Sjöstad, the Thai Boat and Sjöstadens Skybar. Sit down and enjoy people watching or just take in boats passing by. Open every day unless there is a storm outside. It is worth a visit as you also can enjoy the southern side of Södermalm.
