Every now and then, I am craving a good burger. In the Swedish Capitol, burger places have popped up like crazy in the last few years. One is Lily's Burger, with two locations in Södermalm in Stockholm, and my nearest restaurant is the one on Södermannagatan.
The restaurant feels like a classic hamburger joint from the 60s. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. You'll find menus by the counter as you step into the restaurant. You place your order by the counter and get your drinks, and they will come out with your food order when it has been cooked. I am a bit of a "classic" guy, and I prefer the old-style burgers with cheese.
The burgers here are of the smash burger style. It is still juicy and well-seasoned. All burgers are served as a single or double. Unless you are really super hungry, I would say a single is more than enough. Add some crispy fries, and you are good to go!
Sometimes I actually go for the Johnny 2 times, a double sandwich with pepper jack cheese and fried onions — very, very nice. If you are a fan of sweet potato fries, they got'em, too! Freshly made. Another nice thing about Lily's Burger is that they also serve great milkshakes. And if you want to add a splash of rum to your chocolate shake. A cozy place all year around.
