LU is a new restaurant opened in August in Stockholm on the Island of Södermalm. It has become a popular spot for the Stockholmer's to go to. LU is a Chinese restaurant is street food from Hong Kong. It is a little bit spicy in the Cantonese style of cooking. The concept here are that you are having dinner like a Chinese family. Different medium-sized portions of food are served as a concept of sharing.
Recommendation for 2 people are to get three dishes to share. When we ate at LU's we were 4 people and we shared 5 dishes and that was just the right amount to get you satisfied. The menu is not very big and I think that is good, everything comes out fresh. I recommend fried wantons with scampi and a sweet and sour sauce. Very nice and tasty. We also had the sirloin with beans, topped with a good amount of cilantro. Deep flavours to that dish. The salmon was just a bit over cooked but had a mild taste of soy, ginger and leak. The noodles with roast beef was tender and nice as well. We did order two portions of rice and that was just about enough. During the whole time there was a queue to get in so come early. They do not take any reservations at LU's. Happy eating!
