Mallas² is a humble, down-to-earth pub that offers anything you can ask from one: a cosy, dimly-lit place to sit, a beer, cider or long drink, bar food, darts, billiards, tabletop football and of course, TV screens with sports on! They even have their own Mallas pilsner, if you feel like trying something really local!
To me, Mallas² is a sacred relic from back when I was only an exchange student in Tampere. It was called Mallashovi and was located somewhere else, and it had student discounts that attracted both local and international students from all corners of the city. Nowadays, it's a little bit harder for Mallas² to be as crowded as it was before, due to the pandemic, but it's still quite the place to be.
Mallas² occasionally has musicians playing on the downstairs stage, so check out their Facebook page to see if someone is playing during your visit. And if you have an artistic hand like me, you might be interested in Mallas²'s Sip & Sketch evenings, which are held every other Wednesday.
