Oma Toos The Hague

Oma Toos describes itself as a “Pannenkoeken restaurant”, thus a place where you can enjoy a typical Dutch dish, pancakes in various styles. You might have heard of the Dutch “Poffertjes”—a famous Dutch sweet dish and kind of like the mini-version of a pancake.

Oma Toos is located in Scheveningen, not right at the pier where the tourists are, but rather a little bit further inland, overlooking the picturesque harbour. Oma Toos gives you a delicious taste of Dutch cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere without paying “tourist prices”. Oma Toos’ dishes taste like they were actually made with lots of love on a Sunday afternoon by your Dutch grandmother. The menu ranges from the above mentioned pannenkoeken either sweet or savoury, to a hearty “Stamppot”, again a typically Dutch dish that reminds me of stew.
