You know there’s good food ahead when the line stretches out the door and that's what to expect on a typical evening at Taqueria Playa Tropical. Located in New Westminister, it is a favourite of those in search of authentic Mexican food. If there is a line, be sure to add your name to the list.
Right off the bat as you’re seated, you’re offered complimentary chips and salsa. On the menu are typical Mexican dishes from an assortment of tacos, burritos and plated meals all at very reasonable prices. My favourite item on their menu is their fish tacos which are lightly fried with garlic, celery, onion, cilantro before being topped with melted cheese. I also really enjoy their ceviche which is full of fish and very fresh. They also have daily specials on their board which are worth checking out as I’ve never been disappointed by a selection from there.
Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy they are that night. Taqueria Playa Tropical is all about no fuss, laid back delicious food. Be prepared to wait, but for me, it’s completely worth it.
