Over a decade ago a couple of Venetian musicians with a vision took over one of the only discos in town and transformed the space into an intimate jazz club. Our favorite place for a night on the town is this spot.
The Jazz Club is on the edge of popular Campo Santa Margherita, just on the fondamenta of the infamous Ponte dei Pugni (Fighting Bridge) in Dorsoduro.
Concerts are nightly, starting at 21:00. Guests are requested to arrive and be seated by 20:45. This is not a dance club. It is a sit, drink, listen club. They offer light fare beginning at 19:00. The cost of entry includes the first drink!
Tuesday and Friday nights the band performs lively Latin Jazz. The drummer is brilliant, with an array of personally made percussion instruments which will have you bouncing in your seat!
Owner Federico Nalesso will greet you at the door, take your drink order and then entertain you from his throne at the piano. A truly wonderful way to pass an evening in La Serenissima. The whirlwind of pleasure will end promptly by 23:00 in accordance with Venetian noise variance… follow me over to legendary Franco's, Osteria Alla Bifora, for a nightcap in the campo (check the Osteria alla Bifora article)!
* Seasonal hours can apply due to special events and high water. My advice is to always call first and book a table!
