Kent Favoriten Vienna

Turkish delights

"The Kent family of restaurants is well known in Vienna as vibrant outposts of Turkish culinary delights with their classic array of appetizers, charcoal-grilled skewers, kebab, and many other highlights."

An architectural gem of the 1970s designed by Austrian architect Günther Domenig turned into the newest outlet of Vienna's best Turkish restaurant chain. Vienna's 10th district, a multi-ethnic working-class neighborhood has a new culinary highlight. Just one subway stop or a short stroll down Favoritenstrasse from the Main Train Station comes as a remarkable surprise in many ways. The Kent family of restaurants is well known in Vienna as vibrant outposts of Turkish culinary delights. The classic array of appetizers, charcoal-grilled skewers, kebab, and many other highlights is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

Beloved by the strong Turkish community and locals alike, the new location instantly became popular. The famous Domenig-house is a quirky and odd architectural landmark, once built for a bank, then served as a shoe shop. After a long time of standing idle on a busy but dull shopping street, the building was carefully renovated and gutted to shine anew. In the nighttime, the lavish Turkish decoration and hospitality shine through the twisted eyelid-like windows.

The restaurant spreads on all 4 levels and the first Kent hotel is set to open on the upper floors next year. You can get some of the best kebabs in town from the ground floor counter to go, or indulge in the artsy restaurant and work your way through the delicious menu. Just one spoiler: My favorite dessert you absolutely must save room for is Dondurmali Katmer - you will love it!
