The Sign Lounge in the 9th district is the epitome of the local gem. Hidden high up on Liechtensteinstrasse, this place is definitely a get-away from the tourist crowds.
And the cocktails are nothing short of amazing.
Take this for what it's worth: I am not generally a cocktail guy, but I am extremely and continuously impressed by the quality, variety, and creativity of The Sign. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is snazzy without being overbearing, and the cocktails... well, they speak for themselves.
Twice voted by Mixology Magazine as Austria's best bar, The Sign has an impressive pedigree to go along with the atmosphere. Moreover, the intrepid & innovative owner, Kan Zuo, was voted Bartender of the Year in 2015 by Falstaff.
The bar is locally well known, so it is not a bad idea to get a reservation on a weekend night. But whatever night of the week, it would be hard to go wrong with a seat at this locale.
