Have you found your favorite bar in Vilnius? Užupis, one of the craftiest and most charming neighbourhoods in Vilnius has a unique spot to offer called Špunka. The location of the place is magical itself - just in front of the Angel statue of Užupis.
Špunka is one of the tiniest bars I've ever seen in Vilnius. However it's also one of the most visited and coziest bars to have a pint at with my mates. The interior is just the first step to falling in love with the place. Nothing too fancy, just the neat details with their stories to tell. The bar always cheers you up with a variety of bottled foreign beers and 8 Lithuanian beers on tap from Dundulis which would definitely please even the fussiest visitor. They also have bottled cider, wine and some stronger stuff if needed. And for the non-alcoholic beverages there is a sweet beer type of drink called kvass.
If you're interested in refreshments, Špunka has homemade cheese and meat brought from the local Tymo market. I am never nervous if I'm in a rush, but still in demand to get something from Špunka - takeaway is also available.
Last but not least, one argument for visiting Špunka is its mixed audience. The people who go there are earthy, but always interesting and pleasant to communicate with in numerous languages. All in all a dominant place in the "must see in Vilnius" list!
