Also known as A most unusual garden, Hendrick's is truly the most unusual place and bar. In a good way of course. It's a beautiful, hidden garden with a tree house and decorated with funky lights and empty gin bottles. During the day it's green and relaxing and when the night falls, romantic & magical vibes get turned on.
Since it's in my neighborhood, I come here often. I've always loved places that surprise me, and coming here for the first time was a really nice surprise. Although it's near a busy traffic road, tram and bus stops, this hidden little pearl is just what you need on a stressful, busy day. Springs and summers here are the best, everything is in bloom.
Screened behind trees and shrubbery, Hendrick's garden feels like a little piece of green heaven. There are tables & chairs but my recommendation is the tree house. Feel free to climb up there, sit and waiter will soon be there to take your order. Or sit on big green stairs with pillows. It's comfortable and they have these cute little boxes that serve as small coffee tables.
Here you will find mostly young crowd in the evening, but during the day, you can see people of all ages, all enjoying the smells and sights here while sipping their drink. On a busy day, the service might be slow. Well, since Hendrick's is all about taking it easy, don't get upset. Order at the bar and remember: Carpe diem!
