Some places have cult status in a city without anyone knowing how that came to happen. Sedmica is one of those spots and it's said to be a bar where the art, culture and alternative scene of Zagreb has been meeting for more than 25 years. It's a smoky little bar with dimmed, warm lights and atmosphere a little further away from the crowded center and almost unnoticeable from the street (there's a sign though and if you know what you're looking for you'll find it).
Writing this I'm looking around and noticing I'm the only one drinking coffee. One could describe it as an after-work bar for workers of the culture industry, writers, film-makers, photographers. Although the bar is actually tiny, there are several secluded parts where you can find a place for yourself, especially the mezzanine from which you can overlook the happening around the bar downstairs, or a window-pane I have picked for myself to quietly observe the atmosphere, writing of course with pen and paper. This is not a spot you take your laptop to for work.
