One has to admit - Zagreb is not big on street food. If you find yourself hungry in the city center but with no time or money to go to a restaurant for a proper meal, the choice is usually limited to grilled minced meat in all its varieties, bakeries and kebab bars. And there's nothing wrong with any of that, especially after a good night out. But Taquitos Bandidos has contributed to filling a very large market gap in the center of town and it seems like others have picked up on the trend. It's quite unbelievable that Mexican food is a discovery to anyone, but the place is a real delight in Radićeva street.
Tacitos Bandidos is a tiny and eccentrically decorated shop with almost no seating area inside. Anyhow, having your Croatian-Mexican snack at the tall tables on the other side of the traffic-free Radićeva is a much bigger delight. Although the taquitos are the obvious attraction of the little street food restaurant, I'll go ahead and suggest you go for the vegetarian quesadillas. They're creamy, filling and come with a variety of homemade sauces to pick from.
