The prices are certainly high, but this is to be expected in a famous patisserie located in Bellevue, within walking distance of the opera and Bürkliplatz.
On a chilly, rainy afternoon, we came back from the Christmas market a little cold, and Cafe Felix welcomed us with beautiful baroque decorations. Between fairy lights, flower garlands, angels and bouquets of roses, we took a seat on one of the sofas and felt a little like we were in a Viennese coffee house. An ornate spiral staircase leads up to the gallery. The display case is piled high with pralines from Confiserie Teuscher.
The Teuscher family has been making fine pastries and chocolate specialities for over 90 years. The service is quick, and the warm chocolate is a delight. I particularly like the version with a shot of espresso, which is served in a smaller cup (200 ml), whereas the normal version is already very large (300 ml).
The breakfast menu also looks great. This is the perfect place for a cozy afternoon or a fine breakfast in an elegant atmosphere.
