Black Gold is located in the heart of Amsterdam's city center. Fear not. This cafe is a third wave coffee haven, hidden in the serenity of the residential streets around the buzzing Nieuwmarkt. No touristy hype here. It is a two-in-one: you go there for a fresh cup and for inspiration. The beans are from Amsterdam roastery White Label. As for everything else you might expect just from reading the title of this article: tattooed baristas, local coffee appreciators, art and MUSIC, it's all there. On the counter, beside the coffee machine, the turntables are ready. The walls depict works of local artists. And there's enough vinyl to keep you busy for the entire afternoon. Tip: ask the barista for his musical suggestion for the day. They are friendly music nerds. Oh, their Instagram is cool, too!
Black Gold is the place where I'm sure I'll enrich my music knowledge every time. And that while quality-caffeinating. Sounds like the dream, right?
