Cafe de Klepel is located in the romantic Jordaan neighborhood in Amsterdam. It is on a small but vibrant street and I really like its tiny front terrace. As a wine enthusiast, after cycling past it many times and seeing people sipping wine, I decided to check it out and I couldn’t be more delighted.
Cafe de Klepel is a French bistro that offers a large selection of wines by the glass. It is possible to have a glass of wine in the early evening with nibbles (like baguette, charcuterie, or oysters) and/or enjoy dinner by choosing a three or four-course menu prepared with seasonal products. I found the dishes to be colorful and extremely delicious!
As opposed to other restaurants and bars, at Cafe de Klepel I really enjoyed the personal approach and knowledge of the sommelier. The wine recommendations I have been given here were great. One thing to keep in mind is to book a table in advance as it can often get full.
