Restaurant NOMADS is a casual chic spot in the residential Oost neighborhood of Amsterdam, which allows you to travel through food. As a person who loves traveling, Restaurant NOMADS has been a little gem to match my personality. The concept is pretty unique with a menu changing twice a year, inspired by a different country in the world to which the two founders Jaap Kin and Thomas Mutsaers have traveled to. Their aim is to bring back to us authentic and undiscovered culinary gems!
Don’t expect the traditional dishes of that specific country - instead, Restaurant NOMADS focuses on a fusion of flavors, going all the way to adjusting the drinks menu to match the selected country. During my last visit, for example, they had cocktails with a pisco sour (the country being Peru). Currently, the menu is from South America.
You can either order a set menu with a few courses and share these among your group or go à la carte. If you have two menus, then the dishes of both menus will be different so as to allow you to try different flavors, which I personally really like.
Last but not least the atmosphere is casual chic, colorful, with beautiful blue/green velvet furniture, elegant tableware, and beautiful photographs on the walls (changing with the menu).
