Amsterdam is like a wild, wild west filled with pizzas in all shapes and sizes. Some great, some not so much. And as a pizza connoisseur, I see it as my duty to try every single one of them. With Wilde Westen, I can confirm I have found another amazing pizza place to add to the list.
The first Wilde Westen establishment opened years ago in the Bos en Lommer area, but now a little brother was welcomed in the Marnixstraat as well. If you're wandering around in the city center, that's great news, because this place will be close by. Start your evening off with the focaccia or cheese platter starter and one of the 11 (!) draft beers. And then, of course, the pièce de résistance: the wood-oven pizzas. Pick and choose from 18 options such as my two personal favs: the veggie (loads of veggies with mozzarella and truffle) or the spicy 'nduja. Afterward, you'd be happy to stick around for a drink because unlike many other pizza places, they want you to hang out at the bar too.
Prices are affordable anytime, but especially on Mondays. During the 'gierige maandag' (or 'greedy Monday') all pizzas are only €9. (As if you needed any more encouragement.)
