In 2012, a tiny and long-abandoned space transformed and opened as a folklore-boho bistro cafe bar with Ukrainian interior references like textiles and hand-made embroideries hanging on the walls. Lesha (Alexandra in Greek), Olena and Bogdan are the owners – staff, always friendly and polite, came from Ukraine in 2000.
When 67 opened, it was one of the first brunch places in Athens, famous for its Ukrainian dishes, vegan choices and more, served every day fresh in large portions and with good value for money. Some of the traditional options are piroshki, Ukrainian dumplings with cabbage and meat. Also, 67 is well known for its signature dish, the national Ukrainian borscht soup.
If you prefer sweet to savoury Ukrainian temptations, you should order medivinc – the famous Ukrainian sponge cake or Syrnyk, a traditional cake from Lviv. If you are vegan, there is also spinach cake with berries and ricotta cheese. 67 is a very relaxed and friendly spot for studying or working. You can find local magazines and books to read for free if you want to spend time in the Exarchia area.
