As a designer, I love books, especially with illustrations, colors, and shapes! Hyper Hypo is an art and design bookstore located in one of Αthens most attractive shopping streets. The name Hyper Hypo comes from the Greek prefixes υπερ and υπο, which means above and below. The bookstore specializes in design books focusing on contemporary visual culture.
Their book collection is carefully curated of internationally and locally published books and magazines on art, design, photography, architecture, fashion, graphic design, film, pop culture, and more. They run a busy schedule of publication-related talks, readings, performances, and exhibitions in their project space every year. They also publish books, zines, and posters in collaboration with artists and designers from Greece and abroad. The staff is very well informed, they seem to have read and know all books. Most of the publications are in English.
