Let me introduce you to Klostirion, one of my favourite cocktail bars in Athens. Its name means “spinning mill” and it's totally appropriate because it's located close to the subway station of Metaxourgeio, “Silk mill”. Actually, it's located in the heart of the neighbourhood, just in front of “Ble Papagalos”.
Since it's open all day long, you can have everything from breakfast to a late night drink, including some food at noon and dinner time. You also have the option to seat outdoors (in the tables they have in the square) or indoor. I have to say I'm not quite a fan of the trendy industrial decoration but in Klostirion it's quite balanced and it really doesn't bother me. The truth is that I really like it :-)
This area of the city –the area where I live, actually– is not full of tourists, which is always nice, but even in the high season, when there are some more of them, they usually stay away from this place, which make it great if you want to check the local vibes.
As you may have noticed already if you've spent time in Athens, all the places in the city will give you some water the minute you sit down. I think the glasses at Klostirion are the most stylish ones in the city. And I love this detail :-)
