Rezin is an old-school rock bar in Exarcheia that has pretty much stayed the same since it first opened in 1987, before I was even born. The mere utterance of this name reminds me of my first dates with my first high school girlfriend in the centre of the city. Incidentally, she was a metal girl, the sort who would listen to Sonata Arctica.
But don’t think this spot is cool just for teenagers: its mezzanine is super-comfy and decorated with low, colorful lighting and rock posters including Jim Morrison, AC/DC and the like. The music is also –surprise– appropriately rock-themed.
The star of the show is, however, their premium hot or cold chocolate, depending on the season, prepared in large cups and using everyone’s favorite childhood milk chocolate, real Lacta. Our tastes change over time, but nothing ever changes these small sensations that trigger the smells and flavours of our earliest years.
Don’t expect premium, high-quality chocolate. This is a comfort spot at its best for all of us who grew up as rock kids.
Come here with your favorite people and share an intimate moment, or do some cocooning together with your journal and some theobromine.
