Lately, Belgrade has been experiencing a true boom of coffee shops popping up all around the city on a seemingly daily basis. While I like that there are now plenty of places to get a good quality cup of coffee all around the city, it seems that a lot of these places follow the well-established trend of a minimalist interior with clean lines and limited decor.
Hotel Beograd Cafe is one of my favorite exceptions to this trend — it is a recently opened, modern and minimalist coffee shop, but done right. Whenever I visit this place it is bathed in sunlight, its big windows allowing the natural light to shine through its tastefully decorated interior. The place is almost picture-perfect, with little details that break the white walls and light wood furniture with splashes of colors, and that add a warmth to the place, which goes really well with their coffee, which is, of course, delicious.
One thing I also love about Hotel Beograd Cafe is the people you meet there. Every time I visit, I'm greeted by a different group of people of all ages and backgrounds, both local and foreign, more often than not, with a cute dog waiting patiently for their owner to finish their cup. Everyone comes here for the same reason — to drink a quality cup of coffee in a relaxing and bright space and recharge for the rest of the day.
