Whether you've just decided to give Spandau a try or you've already fallen in love with it, this place is a real treat. Wilhelmstadt, a part of Spandau with early 20th-century buildings as beautiful as those in Charlottenburg or Schöneberg, is a lovely area to explore. In this charming, bourgeois part of Spandau, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll, a beer in one of the many old-fashioned pubs, or what some say is the best pizza in Berlin.
You'll find it on the lively and bustling little square at Wilhelmstraße, which is always full of people, weather permitting. In the summer there are plenty of outdoor seats, with large umbrellas and huge potted plants creating a cosy, Mediterranean atmosphere. If you're lucky, you might be able to visit during a summer festival weekend or the winter Christmas market.
How do you know it is good? They only serve pizza and a few drinks, and it's always busy. Bear in mind, however, that there are only a few tables inside during the colder months. Whether you enjoy your pizza straight from the wood-fired oven on a plate or out of a paper box makes a big difference.

My favorite thing to order might just be their #17 plate which comes with stewed vegetables, fresh salad, butter-simmered chicken, chickpeas, lean beef, and collared greens.

One word to describe Macondo? Bustling! It's not the place if you need a quiet space to work, but it's nice if you want to have it all: work, play, wine, and coffee.

Baked goods are made with ingredients made in-house or purchased from local suppliers. All food waste and single-use items (ie recycled compostable napkins) are turned into soil with their Gersi composting machine.

I suggest stopping by the Berlin Art Market by the Zeughaus to pick up a locally created art piece. Since the market is located in the center of Museum Island it's easy to reach.
