Nestled in the heart of the North End is Locale, a petite restaurant that's wonderfully warm and smells constantly of delicious sauces and brick-oven cooked pizza crust. Unlike many places in the North End, you're not going to have to wait long at Locale - based on my experiences here, the friendly staff will have you ushered in and sat at one of their little tables in under five minutes (if that!). Similarly, your order will be taken right quick, and you'll be served up a sizzling pie in no time. For that reason and that reason alone, I'd recommend Locale as a quick spot for food while exploring the North End, or a nice bite to eat before a bar night rather than a place for a lengthy, lingering date night. It pains me to say that, though, as their pizzas are so decadent and definitely date-worthy!
Though all the pizzas I've tasted at Locale have been mouthwatering, I find myself constantly going back to their Cacio E Pepe - a re-imagination of the classic pasta dish as a gourmet pizza. Locale's Cacio E Pepe pie is simple but elegant, with the perfect blend of cheeses and a great crust. You can't go wrong!
Pro tip: Since Locale is in the North End, parking is, of course, hellish and expensive. Walk or take the T!
