Sundays are for brunch and catch-ups with friends. Caleo Cafe, a casual neighborhood cafe in the heart of Ixelles is the perfect location for it. Caleo comes from ancient Latin, and it means “warm”. I would have not found a better word to describe the feeling you get when you enter this place.
With a cozy interior, wood furniture, and a pleasant scent of toasted coffee beans, Caleo offers different options for your brunch, from a simple selection of viennoiseries to delicious pancakes, including sweet and savory options. All with seasonal products and homemade by their staff.
If you ask me, the highlight of their menu is the brioches, which also come with a sweet and savory choice. The brioche with creamy mushrooms, crispy bacon, and a poached egg caught my attention, and I did not regret my choice. All complemented with a delicious matcha latte (I’m a huge fan). It definitely gave me a different perspective to start a new work week.
No reservations are allowed (unfortunately), so... wake up and get ready to get there on time to get a spot!

Sando is a nice nickname Japanese use for sandwiches. I love it! Sandwiches have a sauce more or less spicy and are filled with veggies and/or meat or tofu.

There's nothing in Brussels like "Le Corbeau". It's a brasserie, a local restaurant/bar, but at night it becomes the opposite of Cinderella's fairytale...

The "Zinneke" in Brussels is a statue of a dog that, to me, is an accurate symbol of my city with so many contrasts, but that likes to laugh about them...

"La Cambre Abbey" is an abbey tucked away in a corner of a small square in Brussels. I'm sure most visitors never notice it. It's a precious gem.

"Bois de La Cambre" is the preferred spot for me on a sunny day in Brussels. There is more to this park than a spot to have a picnic.

I have always appreciated the naughty murals spread all over the center of Brussels. This particular art piece stirred up quite the fuss...

"Garcia" in Brussels is the perfect café to have some pasteis de nata, the delicious Portuguese dessert. If I lived in Portugal, I'd be double the weight.

"Parc Leopold" is quiet, it's small and it's hidden. It's one of my favorite places to picnic in Brussels or to rest on one of the benches.
