I am a real coffee addict and having recently completed training as a “barista”, I have started to look for the best coffee shops in Brussels. This is how I discovered Buddy Buddy, a small coffee shop with a modern design look and nice warm colour shades from orange to ochre. The style is rather minimalist, but the colour combination makes this place very cool and cosy. It is located in a quiet street just behind the Apple Store and the lively shopping area of Toison d’Or. So, it is perfect for a break or simply to relax after a busy day.
But what makes Buddy Buddy so special is their delicious nut butters! They are all home-made with organic and premium ingredients, such as Italian Piedmont hazelnuts, Spanish Valencian almonds and Egyptian peanuts. The nuts are roasted in their own atelier and mixed with first quality ingredients, without adding any palm oil or emulsifiers. I have tasted the hazelnut and almond butters and they are definitively the best I have ever tried. Last Christmas during lockdown I even sent a whole box of nut butter jars to my family!
Buddy Buddy has become one of my favourite places in Brussels to taste a cappuccino or a chai-latte while sitting on the bench outside and looking at people walk along. One day I asked the barista what made their chai-latte taste so special and she told me that they add some nut butter in it, clever!

Sando is a nice nickname Japanese use for sandwiches. I love it! Sandwiches have a sauce more or less spicy and are filled with veggies and/or meat or tofu.

There's nothing in Brussels like "Le Corbeau". It's a brasserie, a local restaurant/bar, but at night it becomes the opposite of Cinderella's fairytale...

The "Zinneke" in Brussels is a statue of a dog that, to me, is an accurate symbol of my city with so many contrasts, but that likes to laugh about them...

"La Cambre Abbey" is an abbey tucked away in a corner of a small square in Brussels. I'm sure most visitors never notice it. It's a precious gem.

"Bois de La Cambre" is the preferred spot for me on a sunny day in Brussels. There is more to this park than a spot to have a picnic.

I have always appreciated the naughty murals spread all over the center of Brussels. This particular art piece stirred up quite the fuss...

"Garcia" in Brussels is the perfect café to have some pasteis de nata, the delicious Portuguese dessert. If I lived in Portugal, I'd be double the weight.

"Parc Leopold" is quiet, it's small and it's hidden. It's one of my favorite places to picnic in Brussels or to rest on one of the benches.
