Allow me to start with a confession: I am not a good cook. One Christmas, I was considering foodie gift ideas for my significant other, when I found out about Mmmmh! They offer cooking classes in small groups in a beautiful spacey atelier in the center of Brussels. I bought a gift certificate and later signed us up for a lemon-pie-making class.
Don’t get me wrong, I'm not a pie-making girl now. However, we did have a lot of fun.
There’s different concepts for the classes Mmmmh! offers; 3-hour, 2-hour or 2.5-hour classes. They used to have speed cooking - a one-hour class at lunch time, but it seems suspended now that they moved to Docks Bruxsel. There’s international recipes, sweet treats, Sunday brunch-making, guest-star chefs and in any case, once the dish is successfully made, you get to sit down with the group and eat it. In the case of my lemon pie, we even got to take one home.
The classes are only offered in French, but the language of cooking is international. You really don’t need to be an expert at cooking to enjoy a class at Mmmmh! because the chefs and participants are there to help you and make sure it’s a fun experience. An enriching and different way to spend an afternoon/evening in Brussels, or a good group/team-building outing!

Sando is a nice nickname Japanese use for sandwiches. I love it! Sandwiches have a sauce more or less spicy and are filled with veggies and/or meat or tofu.

The "Zinneke" in Brussels is a statue of a dog that, to me, is an accurate symbol of my city with so many contrasts, but that likes to laugh about them...

There's nothing in Brussels like "Le Corbeau". It's a brasserie, a local restaurant/bar, but at night it becomes the opposite of Cinderella's fairytale...

"Bois de La Cambre" is the preferred spot for me on a sunny day in Brussels. There is more to this park than a spot to have a picnic.

"Garcia" in Brussels is the perfect café to have some pasteis de nata, the delicious Portuguese dessert. If I lived in Portugal, I'd be double the weight.

"Parc Leopold" is quiet, it's small and it's hidden. It's one of my favorite places to picnic in Brussels or to rest on one of the benches.
