If you fancy a drink in a lively place but would rather avoid the hustle and bustle of the city center, check out Bar Jo in Woluwe Saint Lambert! It really stands out in this residential area, with only a few restaurants and wine bars in the vicinity. You can even bring your takeaway food to eat in the bar, which is very unusual in Brussels. The bar itself is full of New York cool, with its industrial decor made of wood and metal, its large brown sofa, and its impressive range of beers and cocktails.
During the day, different types of customers will walk in: regulars at lunchtime, locals in the late afternoon before dinner, then all sorts of young and not so young people in the evening, when the atmosphere gets much more festive. The music is modern but not fashionable, which is a good thing in my book. You may hear tasteful covers of timeless hits, neo-soul playlists, and pop standards.
Another asset of Bar Jo is its occasional events, which draw in an enthusiastic crowd: jazz nights, karaoke nights... Check out their Facebook page for details. All in all, this is a great place to celebrate the weekend in good company.

They serve New York style pizza, so thin and huge. You can choose among the classic Margherita, Pepperoni (with spicy salami), and the pizza of the month!

There's nothing in Brussels like "Le Corbeau". It's a brasserie, a local restaurant/bar, but at night it becomes the opposite of Cinderella's fairytale...

"Coundenberg 66" Brussels is a magnificent building from 1898. It used to house La pharmacie anglaise de Charles Delacre and has many interesting features.

The "Zinneke" in Brussels is a statue of a dog that, to me, is an accurate symbol of my city with so many contrasts, but that likes to laugh about them...

"La Cambre Abbey" is an abbey tucked away in a corner of a small square in Brussels. I'm sure most visitors never notice it. It's a precious gem.

"Bois de La Cambre" is the preferred spot for me on a sunny day in Brussels. There is more to this park than a spot to have a picnic.
