The first time I stumbled across Tenbosch park was while strolling in Ixelles. I thought I’d got lost but I arrived in…paradise. As you enter the park, you can already see some of the lovely wooden benches that can also be found in many nooks of the park. These benches are so romantic; it’s like being in the movie Notting Hill. As I made my way through the park, I encountered many surprises: magical-looking trees, exotic foreign plants, a small, lovely pond, colorful beach chairs to lounge in, a very nice playground for children, and most of all: luxuriant plants and trees that were perfectly curated. It was an explosion of beauty. Tenbosch rapidly became one of my regular spots in Brussels, and my favorite green space.
Its location in the middle of buzzing Ixelles makes Tenbosch even more appealing, as it is close to so many cool shops, restaurants, and cafés. It’s perfect for combining a lazy brunch with a few hours to lay on a plaid in a park, reading on the soft and very green grass.
It’s quite a small park compared to others in the city, but all the passages, trees, bushes, and hills ensure a decent amount of privacy. There’s always a new location to try out in Tenbosch, but I would start with a wooden bench; romance at its best.
