Italians living abroad know the struggle: where can you get the best pizza in town? As a faithful believer in carbs, it took me a while before I figured out the best place to go and profess my faith. Located in Place Saint-Josse, in the homonymous quarter, la Piola Pizza is the place where you will not hear Italian people complain about the quality of Italian food abroad. The pizza they make (which comes with enough options to make you question your final choice) ticks all the boxes: well-cooked, right thickness, fresh ingredients, and the perfect leavening of the dough that will leave you satisfied but not burdened, and even with some extra space for a dessert.
Just let your appetite guide you through all the different pizzas, and let the smell of freshly cooked pizza make you rush to finally make your call. The specialty of the house is the “Siciliana o’ Cornicione” pizza, but it is only for the bravest: it comes with a ricotta cheese stuffed crust. To accompany your dish, a wide selection of Italian cocktails, beers, and wines will make you feel like you just entered a Pizzeria in Italy. As all good things must come to an end as they say, what about concluding your dinner with a nice dessert (their Tiramisu is to die for) and a little shot of Amaro (Italian digestive)?
