Sunset view Duden park Brussels

The best viewpoint around

"I haven't yet been able to identify all the villages/churches marked on the small stone wall but I'm sure I will at some point!"

This is an amazing spot in Brussels to watch over this diverse city in the morning, afternoon but especially in the evening when the sun begins to set. I enjoy visiting this place at any time of the day to see if I can spot all the directions mentioned on the small stone wall. I haven't yet been able to identify all the villages/churches marked on there but I'm sure I will at some point! Sometimes I just walk around here listening to some interesting podcast while watching the Belgian skies (yes, they can be blue in fact!).

The only downside of this spot is that it can be quite dirty and neglected at times. It's not particularly well known, and with the ongoing construction on the tramline, some people tend to litter and leave their trash around. I would recommend coming in the afternoon since it sometimes becomes a youth spot for the local school kids.

Chou Sando Brussels

Chou Sando – Sandwiches Japanese style

Sando is a nice nickname Japanese use for sandwiches. I love it! Sandwiches have a sauce more or less spicy and are filled with veggies and/or meat or tofu.

Nona Pasta – Honest Italian food

"Nona Pasta" is my go-to place in Brussels for proper Italian food. Nona uses only organic Belgian ingredients because it's just better that way!

Le Corbeau Brussels

Le Corbeau – Fun dancing on tables

There's nothing in Brussels like "Le Corbeau". It's a brasserie, a local restaurant/bar, but at night it becomes the opposite of Cinderella's fairytale...

Coundenberg 66 – Cool building in the center

"Coundenberg 66" Brussels is a magnificent building from 1898. It used to house La pharmacie anglaise de Charles Delacre and has many interesting features.

Zinneke – The other statue

The "Zinneke" in Brussels is a statue of a dog that, to me, is an accurate symbol of my city with so many contrasts, but that likes to laugh about them...

La Cambre Abbey Brussels

La Cambre Abbey – Abbey, park and arts in the city

"La Cambre Abbey" is an abbey tucked away in a corner of a small square in Brussels. I'm sure most visitors never notice it. It's a precious gem.

Bois de La Cambre – Preferred spot for a sunny day

"Bois de La Cambre" is the preferred spot for me on a sunny day in Brussels. There is more to this park than a spot to have a picnic.

Garcia – Portuguese pasteis de nata

"Garcia" in Brussels is the perfect café to have some pasteis de nata, the delicious Portuguese dessert. If I lived in Portugal, I'd be double the weight.

Parc Leopold Brussels

Parc Leopold – Little gem in the European Quarter

"Parc Leopold" is quiet, it's small and it's hidden. It's one of my favorite places to picnic in Brussels or to rest on one of the benches.
