Grand Cafe van Gogh is one of my favourite places in the Old centre of Bucharest. It is a perfect place to either have breakfast, lunch, dinner, have a business meeting, or just enjoy a glass of wine with friends. You can even bring your laptop and work here if you feel like it, as nobody's gonna bother you - especially during the day-time.
You have all you need here, it's like being at home, only there are people serving you delicious drinks and food in a cozy atmosphere. The café is one of the most spacious ones in Bucharest and it's also very bright because of the chandeliers, the white paint on the walls, the one wall behind the bar covered in mirrors and the huge windows from where you can see the National Bank of Romania.
Grand Cafe van Gogh reminds me of the period when I lived in Amsterdam, because here you can also enjoy a mint tea and appeltaart, a traditional combination in the Netherlands.

I also come here when I just wanna sit on a bench (there are plenty of those here) and have a snack, read a book, or even have a picnic with my loved ones.

The options are limited (and I absolutely love that) & every burger has ingredients matched to perfection from the thyme and garlic toasted sourdough bun.

Every sandwich on the menu comes with a pickle so you just have to order some fries for a full menu (my go-to is the pastrami poutine version)...

Both young and old now gather here for a cheap beer and the best mici in town! Be prepared for LONG waiting lines, especially on festive days and weekends.

Their head waiter Catalin is the perfect guide for this culinary experience. He knows the menu by heart and always has some menu tweaks/hacks to offer.

Everything is done taqueria style: there are 5-6 tables inside, everything you order is served in less than 5 minutes, and you're gonna eat it even faster.

The name B.A.R is an acronym for “almost Romanian kitchen” which hints that, here, you’re gonna eat reinterpretations or adaptations of Romanian dishes.

You can find a pretty unique menu here, slow cooked, pulled pork/turkey, bagels, and even their special recipe of hummus with grilled peppers and turkey.

"Bocca Lupo" is the coolest Italian restaurant in Bucharest. They use a yellow Fiat as a working table for making pizza. Yes, the whole car...
