Frederic and Cecilia Cuțescu-Storck Art Museum is a small, charming art museum in Bucharest. It is a hidden gem, less popular than other monuments or cultural institutions of the city, but at the same time it is a very special and unique place.
At Frederic and Cecilia Cuțescu-Storck Art Museum you have a totally different experience compared to other standard museums. Whenever I have visited it, I never felt like a random tourist in a museum; it felt more like visiting someone's home. This sensation is given off by the fact that the house was built by the two artists, Frederic (sculptor) and Cecilia (painter), in their own style.
The mural painting is incredible and you should also pay attention to the details of the windows and of the ceiling. Moreover, the collection includes beautiful artworks belonging to other members of the family, also artists, the sculptors Carol Storck and Karl Storck.
This museum tells not only the story of a family of artists but, at the same time, it reveals a part of Bucharest's history.
